Temporary Disability
The Office of Disability Services works with students who
experience temporary disabilities. Documentation and registration with DS are
required in order to receive accommodations.
Temporary conditions affecting attendance only are not
accommodated by the Office of Disability Services.
If your condition is temporary but is
impacting only attendance, make sure you follow up with your professors and
contact the Dean of Students
Office for additional support.
Temporary disabilities impacting the following areas will be
considered for services: writing, reading, testing, vision, mobility, and
hearing.
Verification forms can be found on the
Documentation page. Once
documentation is reviewed and if approved, an appointment is made by the student
who will
meet with a counselor to discuss appropriate accommodations for the duration of
the disability.
If the temporary disability last longer
than expected, additional documentation will be required in order to continue
services.
