Note Taking Services - Information for Faculty

The Office of Disability Services provides the accommodation of note taking services to qualified students. The note taking service uses volunteer note takers who are concurrently taking the class.

The need for a note taker will be indicated on the letter of accommodation that is to be presented to you by the registered student.

Students not registered with the Office of Disability Services or those who have not been approved the use of this accommodation will not receive the note taking service.

Our office will email the class in order to secure a volunteer note taker.

You will not need to make any announcements requesting volunteer note takers.

The note taking accommodation is to supplement the personal notes of the registered student. It is not intended to substitute the student's own notes, attendance, or class participation.

Confidentiality of the student’s disability status is required by law. The student approved for this accommodation should never be identified, except at the student’s discretion.

If questions or concerns arise, please contact our office at 687-4355.
