Student Rights and Responsibilities
Disability Services collaborates with faculty by providing information about the rights and responsibilities of students with disabilities.
Student’s Rights:
To choose not to disclose the nature of a disability when presenting the accommodation letter to faculty.
Equal access to University courses, programs, services, activities and facilities.
For DS to keep disability-related information confidential.
Appropriate and reasonable accommodations, auxiliary aids and/or services to address accessibility needs.
To receive academic information in accessible formats.


Student’s Responsibilities:
Self-identify to Disability Services to seek information, counsel, accommodations and assistance as necessary.
Follow DS procedures to obtain accommodations, auxiliary aids and services.
Provide faculty a Letter of Accommodation from DS and discuss accommodations.
Meet with a DS counselor at the beginning of each semester to discuss accommodation needs.
Inform DS immediately if issues arise or disability status changes.


ALL UNC Charlotte students must meet and maintain essential requirements for courses, programs and activities.
